iKON Wins Two Trophies in Just 4 Days After Their Debut
[TV리포트=김예나 기자] In just four days after their debut, iKON took the No.1 spot on the charts. They received two trophies at the same time. They now have two trophies for becoming No.1 twice on the charts.
On October 4, iKON made their first TV appearance on SBS’s Inkigayo. iKON had held a debut concert the day before.
iKON performed “AIRPLANE”, which is about the pains of a break-up, and “RHYTHM TA”, a powerful hip hop song. These two songs are the title tracks of their debut album.
However, the nominated song for the No.1 spot on the charts was iKON’s “MY TYPE”. As weird as it might sound, iKON did not perform “MY TYPE” on the show but the two title tracks of their debut album.
After their performance, iKON was awarded the trophy. It was the second trophy that they won with “MY TYPE”. On behalf of the members, iKON’s leader B.I said, “Thank you to all those that have helped us.”
Before their performance, iKON received the trophy for topping last week’s charts on the show. They expressed how thankful they were by saying, “Thank you for giving this trophy to a group that has just debuted. We will work harder from now on.”
iKON released their warm-up single on September 15 but they designated October 1 as their official debut day since it was the day that their debut album was released. This means that iKON won two trophies in just four days after their debut.
