iKON Becomes No.1 on Inkigayo and Is About to Dominate All TV Show Charts

[일간스포츠=박현택 기자] iKON is set to dominate all the charts of TV music shows.
Without even making an appearance, iKON’s “MY TYPE” took the No. 1 spot on the charts of SBS’s Inkigayo on September 27. The show was prerecorded, and so the No. 1 place of the charts was not announced during the show but after the show ended on the show’s official website.
iKON won over Red Velvet and Fly To The Sky with a total score of 9273. On MBC’s Show! Music Core aired on September 26, iKON was also put against Red Velvet and Fly To The Sky for the No. 1 place and won.
If the group becomes No.1 on KBS 2TV’s Music Bank – which will be broadcasted on October 2 – iKON will be taking the No.1 spot on the charts of all public TV channels. Unfortunately, iKON’s new single was not included on Mnet’s M! Countdown charts. According to Mnet, only the songs that have been performed on TV shows can be included in their charts. However, there were exceptions to their so-called rule in the past: Busker Busker’s “Love, At First” and BIGBANG’s “SOBER” became No.1 even through the groups never performed the songs on a TV show. As a result, Mnet is being criticized for their unjustifiable actions and their lame excuses.
iKON is YG Entertainment’s seven-member group consisting of B.I (leader, rap), KIM JIN HWAN(vocal), BOBBY(rap), SONG YUN HYEONG(vocal), KOO JUN HOE(vocal), KIM DONG HYUK(vocal), andJUNG CHAN WOO(vocal). They have debuted by releasing “MY TYPE” on September 15.
Meanwhile, CNBLUE, Red Velvet, Fly To The Sky, Monsta X, Jessi, December, Seventeen, Sonamoo, UP10TION, MIWOO, Dia, Kim So Jung, JJCC, myB, HeartB, Baby Boo, ZPZG, Yun Bun Hong, and HOONIYONGI appeared on SBS’s Inkigayo on September 27.
