iKON’s “APOLOGY” and “ANTHEM” sweeping No.1 and No.2 on 7 music charts!!
[enews24=전수미 기자] “APOLOGY” and “ANTHEM” in iKON’s double digital single album are bringing iKON’s new leap forward to a great success, sweeping No.1 and No.2 places on music charts in Korea.
iKON’s “APOLOGY” released on November 16 at 0 o’clock is in the top place on seven music charts: Melon, Olleh, Bugs, Genie, NAVER Music, Monkey 3, and Soribada, as of the 16 at 8am. Notably, “APOLOGY” succeeded in “kicking through the roof” (surpassing the maximum figure on a chart), on Melon’s “24-hour streaming volume chart”. In addition, “ANTHEM”, a song of the B.I and BOBBY’s unit team which is the sub-title track for iKON’s new double digital album, is in No.2 place on the seven music-streaming websites.
“APOLOGY” that is drawing keen attention from music fans for the collaboration between iKON and YG’s main producer TEDDY and KUSH is an R&B song with slow tempo. The song is entertaining the ears of music fans, with its catchy and tender melody. “ANTHEM” is an original hip-hop music sang by iKON’s rappers B.I and BOBBY. The duo’s intense and bold rapping harmonized with Korean traditional melody also leaves a strong impression.
Music videos of the new songs are also creating sensation. The number of views for the two music videos of “APOLOGY” and “ANTHEM” is reaching total 505,327 together, recording 253,751 and 251,674, respectively. In the video of “APOLOGY” made of sensational black-and-white images, iKON members are showing sophisticated acting of sad breakup with rookie actresses. Plus, in the video of “ANTHEM”, B.I and BOBBY are expressing intense and powerful appeal, differently from “APOLOGY”.
Meanwhile, iKON communicated with fans by talking about their new songs and unveiling new music videos and making films, in NAVER V-APP live-broadcasting “iKONIGHT COUNTDOWN LIVE” aired on thr 15 at 11pm, one hour before the release of the new songs. B.I expressed his excitement about iKON’s new release, saying, “I thank all the fans and I hope you’ll love our new songs”. iKON’s fans who watched the live-broadcasting gave enthusiastic responses, saying, “It was worthwhile to wait for”, “I really love the new songs”, and “I wish I were the actress in the music video”.
iKON, who is dominating music charts with “APOLOGY” and “ANTHEM” again after great success of “MY TYPE” and “RHYTHM TA”, will release a full album on December 14.
