YG starts project for nurturing of next-generation songwriters & lyricists

[OSEN=최나영 기자] MUJU YG Foundation which is a non-profit foundation established by YG Entertainment (“YG”) launches “YG Director Project” on the 25 this month jointly with Seoul City Youth Media Center.

“YG Director Project” is mentoring project in which professional art education is offered for free to teenagers from low-income families, who have talent and passion for the emerging profession of art director, lyricist, and songwriter in the entertainment industry but could not have an opportunity for professional education because of financial difficulties.

Twenty selected teenagers will receive basic training from professionals and create their own work of art for five months. The basic training which is designed to enhance the understanding of general entertainment industry will be given by YG Entertainment’s staff members, in a way of talent donation. Plus, opportunity for a variety of activities such as visits to cultural performances related with future career, visit to the YG headquarters, and issuance of certification will be offered to participants.

The application for the program will be received from the 25 this month until September 11 at 6pm. Those who are aged between 14 and 19 and who live in the metropolitan area can apply for participation in the program. In addition, college student mentors who will help participating teenagers’ education and activities will be recruited, too.
