AKMU’s “200%” Tops Mnet’s M! Countdown despite the Show’s Cancelation
[동아닷컴 정준화 기자] YG Entertainment’s brother-and-sister duo AKDONG MUSICIAN, or AKMU (LEE SOO HYUN & LEE CHAN HYUK), topped Mnet’s M! Countdown music chart on the fourth week of April.
The rankings were announced on M! Countdown’s official website as the show got cancelled on April 24 due to the ferry Sewol accident in Korea.
According to the rankings on M! Countdown’s weekly music chart, AKMU’s “200%” was placed on top, following the previous week, and Apink’s “Mr. Chu” ranked second on the list.
15& took the third place, followed by Lee Sun Hee’s “Meet Him among Them” on fourth. Mad Clown’s “Without You” took the No. 5 spot, thanks to SISTAR’s leader Hyolyn’s great support.
Rankings on M! Countdown’s weekly music chart is calculated after adding up the song’s score, which accounts for 50% of the total score, with the scores of five different categories that account for 10% each, the album, social media, preference, TV broadcast, and text message votes during the live broadcast of the show. On April 24, when the show got cancelled, scores from the TV broadcast and text message votes were excluded.
M! Countdown was cancelled for two consecutive weeks, including last week’s show on April 16. Regarding the show’s TV broadcast schedule, Mnet explained that it is currently being discussed, adding, “We are sincerely praying for the safe return of the missing passengers on the ferry Sewol.”
