PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’ soon to reach 1.9 billion views
[일간스포츠 김진석] The mega-hit music video ‘Gangnam Style’ by PSY, aged 37, is about to attract a sensational 1.9 billion viewers.
The current number on Feb 6 stands at 1.899 billion views. He only needs an extra million to reach 1.9 billion. He, of course, stands at the very to on the YouTube ranking.
The music video, since its revelation on July 15 2012, attracted a whopping 100 million views in just 51 days, on Sept 4. Last year it recorded 1.5 billion views in April, proving its undying popularity. If the record hits 1.9 billion on Feb 7, then it would be a record broken in 573 days.
Last month PSY received the grand prize of the 28th Golden Disk Awards, which makes it a 2nd one in a row. At that time he announced the new song “is almost at its completion. You will soon see a very fun song, and I am doing my best to show what PSY has got.” Recently he finished filming his latest music video with Snoop Dogg at a bathhouse, billiard room and singing room.
