[일간스포츠 김진석] ‘Global singer’ Psy (36, Park Jae Sang) is spending a hot Christmas with Korean fans this year.

Psy is holding a solo concert in this coming December at Olympic Park Gymnastics Hall in Songpa-Gu, Seoul, for the first time in eight months. One of the concert staff said, “We have finalized the application for the concert hall rental for ten days from December 16 to 25. Psy is now writing new songs in the US and he will finalize the exact date of the concert by consulting with his US agency.” “Sangam or Jamsil Stadium which can accommodate 50,000 audience is not appropriate since it s too cold to have an outdoor concert. Because Gymnastics Hall can accommodate only 12,000 audience, we may hold the concert for five days in a row”, added he.

This is the first concert in eight months, since Psy’s last concert on April 13. Then, Psy held a concert titled “Happening” at World-Cup Stadium in Mapo-Gu, Seoul, and disclosed the performance of “Gentleman”. Since then, Psy traveled across the world for the promotion of “Gentleman”.

It can be expected that Psy will disclose his new songs at the Christmas concert in Korea. Recently, in an interview for October issue of Italian fashion magazine L’Uomo Vogue, Psy said “Legendary artist like Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler completed his recording right beside me. When I was a middle school student, I used to cry listening to their songs. Aerosmith is my role model. I can’t believe that I did collaboration with Tyler. I love my life.” The date of release of the album is not known yet.

Psy had stayed in Korea for a while early this month and went back to the US on the 21.
