High-quality Thanks to YANG HYUN SUK…TREASURE Makes a Comeback After Reforming As a 10-member Group

On the morning of the 28th, a press conference commemorating the release of TREASURE’s second full-length album ‘REBOOT’ was held at the YG Entertainment headquarters in Mapo-gu, Seoul.
TREASURE has returned with their second full album, showing growth in all aspects, from music to visuals. The album, which includes a total of 10 songs, sheds their youthful image and showcases a more mature charm. The members of TREASURE directly participated in the album production, expanding their musical spectrum. Notably, this album is the first comeback since the departure of BANG YEDAM and MASHIHO.
After a hiatus of 10 months, CHOI HYUN SUK said, “I had a lot of considerations while preparing for this album. The time has passed due to touring. I feel sorry for just asking fans to wait, but I’m happy that the new album has been released today.”
About the second full album, he introduced, “It’s an album where you can see a high level of capability, with a variety of genres such as pop, hip-hop, ballads, and pieces that the members have honed.”
JIHOON added, “The title ‘REBOOT’ means to reboot, literally. TREASURE’s previous image was sporty and youthful. Over the course of three years, all members have matured and grown. We aim to show a new image.”
The title song ‘BONA BONA’ is a scaled-up dance song. It shows a confident image of being drawn to a powerful destiny. The intense brass sound and drum beat in the chorus are harmoniously intertwined.
CHOI HYUN SUK explained, “The title is onomatopoeic. It contains the meaning that I love you with a powerful attraction. The verses are dreamy, but the hook and the last chanting part are majestic. Please look forward to that.”
The track ‘G.O.A.T’ features Lee Young Hyun. CHOI HYUN SUK said, “I thought I needed someone’s help. The real ‘G.O.A.T’ we thought of was only Lee Young Hyun. He was also with YG before, and I thought I should contact him even if it’s rude. He readily agreed.”
SO JUNG HWAN talked about ‘WONDERLAND’, “It’s a song written by AKMU LEE CHANHYUK. It’s a dreamy yet well-suited song for summer.”
After the departure of BANG YEDAM and MASHIHO, they were reorganized into 10 members. JIHOON said, “We prepared for the album with the members unchanged and sincerely. During the tour this time, I felt a sense of responsibility. We wanted to produce a perfect and high-quality album.”
CHOI HYUN SUK said, “Because it’s a full album, the 10 of us focused more on singing and creating performances. Then 10 months passed. It would be a lie if I said I didn’t regret its popularity, but I think the stage and songs are important. Rather than grades, I want to show good stages and songs. Then, wouldn’t many people like it?”
The help of executive producer Yang Hyun Suk was also present. JIHOON revealed, “He drew an overall picture for this full-length album and helped a lot with music editing and arrangements. The quality of the album has been raised, and it has become an album that more people can be satisfied with.”
Regarding what TREASURE calls ‘maturity’, they said, “Both internally and externally. Externally, we took care of our health and visuals, and internally, we showed maturity in our attitude towards the stage, how focused we are. We like the company YG Entertainment, so we tried to show a new image of YG by dressing TREASURE in the original YG color.”
About the performance, they said, “It would be a lie if we said we didn’t expect it. Rather than thinking about and looking for numbers, I think we need to communicate with fans once more while pre-recording music broadcasts. I want to focus on the stage and music.”
Meanwhile, TREASURE’s second full-length album ‘REBOOT’ will be released today at 6 PM.
