BABYMONSTER’s Excellent Team Work Shines During Group Vocal Mission… ”It seems like a music show finale”
[OSEN=지민경 기자] YG’s rookie girl group, BABYMONSTER, has attracted global music fans with their high-quality performance and perfect teamwork, reminiscent of a music show stage.
YG Entertainment posted “BABYMONSTER – ‘Last Evaluation’ EP.7” on its official social media on the 21st. The video captures the passion of the seven pre-debut members who performed solo and group vocal missions, including AHYEON’s stage as the final solo vocalist.
AHYEON, who had difficulty choosing a song in the previous episode, amazed her senior artists with a high-quality performance of ‘Dangerously’ despite a short practice period. Her ability to freely switch between full and falsetto voice and her explosive vocal range made it hard to believe she was a trainee.
YOON from WINNER praised her with a round of applause, saying, “It’s like watching a power show of her voice.” A YGX dance trainer also highly complimented her, saying she’s the “character that best suits the team’s name.” In particular, YANG HYUN SUK, the executive producer, said, “She is the member with the highest vocal range among the seven members. I felt her unwavering dedication.”
The next mission was a group vocal mission, as teamwork is a very important factor for the best team. BABYMONSTER, who had no experience harmonizing as one voice, quickly proceeded with song selection and part distribution.
Despite their first attempt at harmonization, BABYMONSTER created a beautiful harmony under AHYEON’s detailed teaching and HARAM’s proactive vocal lead. CHIQUITA, the youngest member who had difficulty with the group song due to her short training period, relied on AHYEON’s solid advice and affectionate encouragement, giving her best until the end with a proud smile.
BABYMONSTER’s endless efforts truly shone on the day of the competition. The seven members who chose ‘Scars To Your Beautiful’ showcased their individual strengths within their solid skills and perfectly digested the harmony, demonstrating amazing synergy. Overwhelmed by their breathtaking harmony, Lee Chan-hyuk commented, “It was like watching a music show’s ending stage.”
Finally, the last hurdle towards debut opened. With the announcement of BABYMONSTER’s final mission, the group dance stage, global fans are focusing their attention on the final debut lineup, especially since executive producer YANG HYUN SUK had previously said, “Not all seven members can debut together.”
Meanwhile, BABYMONSTER is YG’s first girl group to debut after BLACKPINK in about seven years. The pre-debut members consist of three Koreans (AHYEON, HARAM, RORA), two Thais (PHARITA, CHIQUITA), and two Japanese (RUKA, ASA), with most of them being teenagers. The debut reality show ‘Last Evaluation’ for final member selection is released every Friday at midnight.
