BABYMONSTER’s PHARITA Who Broke Through YG’s 1,226:1 Competition Rate Showcases Overwhelming Vocal Emotions
YG rookie girl group BABYMONSTER’s PHARITA has boasted her enchanting emotional vocals.
On April 8th, YG Entertainment posted a cover video of PHARITA’s solo mission song ‘All Of Me’ on its official social media. This video captures a more intense performance than the one in BABYMONSTER’s ‘Last Evaluation’ EP.5, which received high praise from YANG HYUN SUK, the executive producer.
Sitting on a chair in the center of the stage, bathed in soft blue light, PHARITA immersed herself in the song in just one go. Her clear and lovely voice harmonized perfectly with the beautiful piano melody, warming the hearts of those who listened.
Her vocal technique was also outstanding. She skillfully expressed the song’s atmosphere by switching between stable and clear low notes and refreshing high notes. Her deep gaze and relaxed expression, seemingly lost in the music, made it impossible to look away.
The reaction to PHARITA’s performance, which showcased her abilities despite the pressure of being the first solo mission contender, emphasized her potential once again. The 17-year-old Thai girl, who passed YG’s trainee audition with a competitive rate of 1,226 to 1 and has been hailed as a “trainee with a promising tomorrow,” is expected to unfold an exciting growth narrative.
BABYMONSTER is YG’s new girl group, debuting about seven years after BLACKPINK. The potential members consist of three Koreans (AHYEON, RORA, HARAM), two Thais (PHARITA, CHIQUITA), and two Japanese (RUKA, ASA), most of whom are in their teens. The debut reality show ‘Last Evaluation’ to determine the final members is released every Friday at midnight.
