Why 15-Year-Old BABYMONSTER Member AHYEON is Called the ‘Definite Center’

[JTBC=김진석 기자] YG rookie girl group BABYMONSTER is revealing introduction videos that depict the charms of members one by one.

At 12AM of the 27th, YG Entertainment put up a video titled ‘BABYMONSTER – Introducing AHYEON’, and introduced the 15-year old Korean trainee AHYEON, following RUKA, PHARITA, RORA, ASA, and CHIQUITA.

AHYEON showed unrivaled presence, living up to the reputation she had within YG as the ‘definite center’. Her strength was in big movements and flexible body control, playing the role of adding even more completeness to the overall performance. Dance trainer LEEJUNG said, “It’s most balanced when AHYEON stands in the center. She’s the one most suitable to stand in the center.”. Not only dancing, but AHYEON was a trainee that had phenomenal vocal and rap skills. Her clear, pure voice tickled listeners, but she soon showed explosive vocals, giving a twist from the first impression. Her rapping full of hip-hip swag also showed how endless potential.

Behind her growth stood not only the talents she was born with but hard-working attitude. She showed interest in English and Chinese since she was five, and kept studying the language to prepare herself as a global star. Her school friend said, “It must be really tiring to practice every day but she’s never been late to class and she’s always hard-working at school.”

For each monthly evaluation, AHYEON said she always thinks ‘to do her best without leaving any regrets’, and just like her determination, she did her absolute best on stage. Since she had a great understanding of not only herself but the music, she made everyone fall for the stage with her emotions and control in strengths. The clip definitely showed that she was an ‘all-rounder’ that had all the vocal, rap, and dance abilities.

YG Executive Producer YANG HYUN SUK said, “AHYEON is a warrior that has many weapons. I always think it’s impossible to have it all like her whenever I see her.” AHYEON said, “I want to be an artist that can pull off various genres without being restricted to one.”

Meanwhile, BABYMONSTER is a rookie girl group YG is releasing in 7 years since BLACKPINK. Most of the members are in their teens and is composed of multi-national members with 3 Koreans (AHYEON/HARAM/RORA), 2 Thai (PHARITA,CHIQUITA), and 2 Japanese members (RUKA/ASA).
