TREASURE To Take the Main Stage of Japan’s ‘SUMMER SONIC’
[스타뉴스=문완식 기자] Group TREASURE will take the stage of Japan’s representative music festival ‘SUMMER SONIC 2023’.
TREASURE (CHOI HYUN SUK, JIHOON, YOSHI, JUNKYU, YOON JAE HYUK, ASAHI, DOYOUNG, HARUTO, PARK JEONG WOO, SO JUNG HWAN) listed their names on the main stage line up of Summer Sonic which was unveiled on the 28th of February through the festival’s website.
TREASURE will heat up Japan by performing at Maisama Sonic Park in Osaka on the 19th of August, and in Tokyo’s Chiba Marine Stadium the next day.
‘Summer Sonic’ is Japan’s large-scale inner city music festival which is joined by not only top artists in Japan but renowned musicians from all around the world. Despite being their first time on their stage, they will take the main stage of the festival and perform along with top singers like Kendrink Lamar and Liam Gallagher.
TREASURE, who made their official debut in Japan in March 2021, listed all their 3 Japanese albums on the top spot of the Oricon chart and Line Music, even though they couldn’t hold activities in Japan due to the COID-19 pandemic. They made their presence clear by listing themselves in the Best 3 new artist category for the 36th Japan’s Golden Disc Awards.
They also successfully wrapped up their first Japanese tour since debut. Starting with Fukuoka in November, they held 26 concerts in 8 cities including their special dome performance in Osaka’s Kyosera Dome, holding a total of 300,000 audiences. This is the most among all Korean artists as a group that’s never held a Japanese tour before. Not only have they expanded their fandom through their recent tour, but they’re also being pointed as YG’s next-generation ‘performance artists’.
Meanwhile, TREASURE will ride on their popularity by holding their Asia tour starting in March. The tour will begin in Taipei followed by Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Bangkok, Singapore, Manila, Macau, and Hong Kong.
