BLACKPINK Adds Additional Concerts in Mexico and Australia…Enters Large Stadium for the First Time As a K-Pop Idol
[OSEN=지민경 기자] With BLACKPINK currently carrying out their world tour, thanks to the explosive response by global fans, they confirmed additional performances in Mexico and Australia.
YG Entertainment put up a local poster for Mexico and Australia for ‘BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK]’ on the 1st on BLACKPINK’s official social media. According to the poster, BLACKPINK will hold a total of 5 more performances, one in Mexico City on the 26th of April, two in Melbourne Australia on the 10th and 11th of June, and two in Sydney on the 16th and 17th of June.
Their concert in Mexico will be held in FORO SOL, which is a venue where world-renowned stars such as Coldplay, ONE DIRECTION, and Justin Bieber had previously performed. BLACKPINK will be entering this venue for the first time as a K-Pop girl group, holding more than 50,000 people. The venue is expected to be filled with bright pink lights.
BLACKPINK will then head to Australia, where ROSÉ spent her childhood days, and meet with fans in Melbourne and Sydney in 4 years since 2019. Compared to the previous world tour, the scale has more than doubled, proving their growth as a global artist.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is on the biggest world tour as a K-Pop girl group, holding a total of 1.5 million people. They successfully wrapped up their European concert, which was held 10 times in 7 cities, and is currently touring Asia. In April, they will be taking the stage of ‘Coahella Valley Music and Arts Festival in the U.S., and the Hyde Park British Summer Time Festival in the U.K. in July.
