BLACKPINK Performs With Cellist Capucon & Violinist Lozakovich at a Charity Event in France
[뉴시스=이재훈 기자] Group ‘BLACKPINK’ practiced their positive influence by taking the stage of a charity event held by the first lady of France.
According to YG Entertainment on the 29th, BLACKPINK attended the French Hospital Foundation Gala Concert at Le Zénith Arena located in central Paris.
The gala concert was held by a charity group led by French first lady Brigtte Macron. The group has been carrying out fundraising events and volunteer activities with the aim of “improving hospitalization conditions for sick children.”
BLACKPINK was the first K-Pop artist to be invited to the concert. They appeared on the stage as the last runner following big names such as Pharrell Williams and British pop star Mika. The group performed ‘Shut Down’, their title song for their 2nd full-album, and their pre-release single ‘Pink Venom’.
In particular, classical melodies were added on to BLACKPINK’s performance, drawing the attention of the audiences even more.
Gautier Capucon, a French-born cellist who has been under spotlight recently, added classical sounds to ‘Pink Venom’. The ‘Genius’ violinist from Sweden Daniel Lozakovich reproduced the sharp violin sounds from Paganini’s ‘La Campnella’, the sampling song for ‘Shut Down’. Capucon and Lozakovich are also very well-known artists in Korea as they’ve even performed in the country.
BLACKPINK has been showing its positive influence worldwide. They were designated as UN’s SDG Advocate 2 year ago, and have been working hard to deliver messages on a total of 17 state goals, including ‘Responding to climate change’ and ‘Education’. Not only this, but they’ve been taking part in various social contribution activities such as carrying out activities as advocates of COP26.
After the performance, the first lady said “All proceeds from ticket sales of the event and the entire fund raised through this concert will be donated to the French Hospital Foundation. We welcome BLACKPINK, who has such an enormous influence around the world, to be part of such a meaningful event”, and thanked the members for their participation. The first lady also took a commemorative photo with BLACKPINK members and French President Emmanuel Macron. A picture of the first lady watching BLACKPINK’s World Tour ‘Born Pink’ concert held in Paris’ ACCOR ARENA on the 11th and 12th of December last year was a hot topic.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is on the biggest world tour as a K-Pop girl group, holding a total of 1.5 million people. They successfully wrapped up their European concert, which was held 10 times in 7 cities, and is currently touring Asia. In April, they will be taking the stage of ‘Coahella Valley Music and Arts Festival in the U.S., and the Hyde Park British Summer Time Festival in the U.K. in July.
