BLACKPINK’s ‘HYLT’ Dance Practice Video Reaches 1.1 billion Views…Surpasses Views of M/V
[매일경제 스타투데이=박세연 기자] The dance prctice video of “How You Like That” by group Blackpink surpassed 1.1 billion views, setting an unusual record of surpassing views recorded by its music video.
According to YG Entertainment on the 11th, BLACKPINK’s dance practice video for “How You Like That” exceeded 1.1 billion views on YouTube at 0:02 a.m. the same day.
The feat comes after a year and 10 months since it was released on July 6th in 2020. After reaching 1 billion views, the first of its kind among K-POP choreography videos, it only took the group 3 months to change the first digit of billion views.
BLACKPINK is known for recording explosive views for its choreography videos. It shows global fans’ everlasting love and passion for the group that shows overwhelming performances.
The M/V for “How You Like That” which has also been popular along with the dance practice video, has currently reached more than 1.091 billion views on YouTube. Watching the two videos compete for their own new records has now become another fun element to see.
‘How You Like That’ won the ‘Song of The Summer’ in the 2020 US MTV Video Music Awards, and took the first spot in the ‘Global Top Summer Song’ chosen by YouTube in the same year.
‘How You Like That’ reached remarkable achievements in major charts when it first got released. Not only did it take over all music streaming charts in Korea, but it took the 2nd spot in Spotify’s Global Top 50 Chart, and reached 20th and 33rd on UK’s Official Single Top 100 and Billboard Hot 100 respectively, making their presence clear globally.
Meanwhile BLACKPINK who has 32 videos on YouTube which reached more than a billion views, have now more than 23.5 billion cumulative views with their subscribers reaching more than 740 million. This is the most out of all male and female artists around the world.
