BLACKPINK’s ‘HYLT’ Dance Performance Video Hits 700M Views… “First in K-Pop History”
[뉴시스=이재훈 기자] Group BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ dance performance video surpassed 700M views on YouTube.
According to YG Entertainment on May 24, BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ dance performance video surpassed 700M views on YouTube as of 7 AM. The record was achieved in approximately 323 days since its release last year on July 6. BLACKPINK is the first group to reach 700M views through a K-Pop dance performance video.
The dance performance video for BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ has reached 100M views in 15 days, 200M views in 45 days, 300M views in 76 days, 400M views in 120 days, 500M views in 183 days, and 600M views in 250 days. It did not take a longer term for the group to reach from 600M to 700M this time.
‘How You Like That’ is a song with a strong and impressive beat, which BLACKPINK sings the message of flying high without giving into any hardships. The song received the ‘Song of The Summer’ award at the 2020 US MTV Video Music Awards and was ranked at no. 1 on the ‘Global Top Summer Song’ list announced by YouTube.
The song achieved a ‘perfect all-kill’ on major Korean charts at the time of its release as well as being ranked at no. 2 on the Spotify Global Top 50 chart, and also topped iTunes charts in 64 different countries including the US. The song was also ranked at no. 20 and no. 33 respectively on the UK Official Singles Top 100 and the Billboard Hot 100, proving the group’s global presence and popularity.
BLACKPINK is known to stack millions of views not only through their MVs, but also through their dance performance videos. Among BLACKPINK’s 28 videos with over 100M views, they have 7 dance performance videos with over 200M views.
BLACKPINK’s YouTube channel currently has 61.4M subscribers as well. They hold the first·best·biggest title among all global female artists, and are closely after Canadian Pop star Justin Bieber, who is currently the most subscribed artist in the world(63.4M).
