TREASURE’s ‘JIKJIN’ M/V Reached 50 million Views in 14 Days..7 Times Faster Than Previous Title-song
[스타뉴스=윤상근 기자] Idol group TREASURE broke their own YouTube record in terms of their speed and views.
According to YG Entertainment on the 2nd, the M/V for TREASURE’s first mini-album title-song ‘JIKJIN’ reached 50 million views on YouTube as of 7AM the same day. This feat comes after 14 days and 13 hours since it was released, and is also the fastest speed among all five title-song music videos released by TREASURE so far. Earlier, the M/V for their debut song ‘BOY which recently exceeded 100 million views reached 50 million views in 93 days, and ’I LOVE YOU’ took 108 days to reach the same feat.
JIKJIN’s pace in reaching the same amount of views was around 7 times quicker than the previous music videos. This shows how TREASURE’s popularity is expanding worldwide as YouTube is known to quite sensitive when it comes to changes in the global music market trend.
Their increased popularity and presence can also be seen through other indicators, not just YouTube. Not only did they sweep various music charts, but they have also been taking away trophies at music shows. More attention is being drawn to their further activities.
In fact their first mini-album ‘THE SECOND STEP : CHAPTER ONE’ took the first spot on the iTunes chart in 30 different countries on the first day of release, and also came number one on the Worldwide album chart.
The album has currently sold more than 700,000 copies and topped the Hanteo Album Chart for two consecutive weeks, and also took awy two trophies at music shows (MBC M ‘Show Champion’, KBS2 ‘Music Bank’).
Their title-song ‘JIKJIN’ swept major Japanese music charts such as Line Music Song Top100, Rakuten Music, Apple Music, iTunes, AWA, and mu-mo, and also successfully got listed on U.S. Billboard Global 200 Chart.
