YG TREASURE Takes First Home First Trophy at ‘Show Champion’ -> First Appearance to Be Made At ‘MCountdown’…To Perform ‘JIKJIN’ + ‘U’
[OSEN=이승훈 기자] YG mega group TREASURE chose Mnet’s ‘MCountdown’ as their first TV show performance program, and plans on building up even more popularity to their song ‘JIKJIN’.
According to YG Entertainment, TREASURE will be performing their title-song ‘JIKJIN’ and their track-song ‘U’ on Mnet’s ‘MCountdown’ which will be aired in the afternoon of the 24th.
‘JIKJIN’ is a dance hip-hop song which brings out a thrilling feeling with constantly switching tracks and speedy vocal parts. Not only does it have an addictive chorus, but it portrays YG’s music identity, hence garnering enthusiastic responses on various global charts.
In particular, TREASURE took home the first trophy with ‘JIKJIN’ at MBC M’s ‘Show! Champion’ which was aired on the 23rd without even appearing on the show.
Expectations are rising over the performance for ‘U’. ‘U’ is a trendy easy-listening pop genre and a MZ generation serenade sung by TREASURE. It’s popular among fans as the song shows how smooth and comforting the members’ voice are, and is taking over the top spot of charts along with the title-song ‘JIKJIN’.
Meanwhile, TREASURE released their first mini-album ‘THE SECOND STEP : CHAPTER ONE’ on the 15th and took the weekly charts of the Hanteo Chart and the Gaon Chart.
The album has currently sold more than 700,000 copies and took the top place of the iTunes Chart in 30 countries along with the Worldwide Chart, showing how quick their popularity is expanding globally.
The ‘JIKJIN’ song swept first places on Japan’s Line Music Weekly Chart, Rakuten Music, Apple Music, iTunes, AWA, and mu-mo.
