The rapper of the hip-hop group Black Eyed Peas – will.i.am’s new album dubbed #willpower goes on sale on April 22. 2NE1’s participation in the project has been drawing attention for a while.

#willpower is a new album that is also a combination of two words Will (the artist name) and Power (symbolizing his power and perseverance).

Billboard wrote that it is his most successful solo album. It is already creating much hype as world-renown pop stars like Britney Spears, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Miley Cyrus, along with the South Korean artist 2NE1, were featured in the album.

The album consists of 15 songs that are quite experimental, going across genres of Electro house, Dubstep, and Trap. Each song carries will.i.am’s unique style.

‘Gettin’ Dumb’ is the song featuring 2NE1, and apl.de.ap, another member of the Black Eyed Peas. The song is based on trap, which was shown in the highly popular ‘Harlem Shake.’ It is expected to gain attention in South Korea for 2NE1’s classy rapping style.

The album drew attention even before the release because photos of will.i.am and Justin Bieber were unveiled to the public. #thatPOWER is popular worldwide as it features a music video that has so many different cities of the world as its setting.

This is not the end. Britney Spear’s whisper-like voice and will.i.am’s masculine vocal in the electro pop track ‘Scream & Shout’ brings out an amazing synergy effect. The rapper’s new song ‘Reach For The Stars’ which originally debuted from Mars when he and NASA joined Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California for an educational event is now recreated into an electronic song.

The lead rapper said the album embraces different styles like ghetto and dance music, and songs that goes along with the mainstream, while others are avant-garde-ish and progressive; songs which aren’t edited for radio shows. He explained that it is an album that clearly demonstrates his artistic talents and is one with many different colors.
