BLACKPINK LISA Enters Billboard ‘Hot 100’ Chart for 2 Consecutive Weeks…First as A K-POP Female Solo Artist
[뉴스1=고승아 기자] LISA from group BLACKPINK got listed on U.S. Billboard ‘Hot 100’ once again with her song ‘MONEY’, breaking the record as a K-POP female solo artist.
According to the most recent chart released by U.S. Billboard on the 9th (local time), LISA’s solo album track song ‘MONEY’ got listed on the ‘Hot 100’ chart as 93rd. Although this is a 3 step lower record from last week, LISA is the first K-POP female solo artist to be listed on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 2 consecutive weeks.
LISA’s popularity stands out even more on the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global (Excl. U.S.) chart where the ranking is decided on the number of streaming and sales. Her solo album title song ‘LALISA’ and track song ‘MONEY’ is both remaining on the top part of the charts for 8 weeks.
LISA’s solo album title song ‘LALISA’ which was released on the 10th of September recorded 84th on the ‘Hot 100’ chart on the first week of release, and took the number one spot on iTunes Top Song Chart in a total of 72 countries. Furthermore, it got listed on the YouTube Song Top 100 for 2 consecutive weeks.
The track song ‘MONEY’ took the first place on the iTunes Top Song Chart in a total of 38 countries, and is showing an unusual trend with the song gaining even more popularity as time goes by. In particular, it reached the 5th place on Spotify’s Global Chart which is the world’s largest streaming platform, and reached 46th on UK’s Official Chart Top 100 after entering the chart as 81st. This also is a first reached by a K-POP solo artist.
LISA recently took part in DJ Snake’s new single ‘SG’ which took the first spot on the iTunes Chart in 41 countries. Not only did ‘SG’ entered the Top 10 Chart in the Billboard Dance/Electronic category, but also reached the top segment for Latin Digital Song Sales Chart. Through this, LISA expanded her music genre capabilities within the mainstream pop market.
YG said “We are receiving love calls from US’ representative radio programs, talk shows, and other press interview requests”. Attention is being drawn to LISA’s promotional activities overseas as she’s already reached a milestone without pursuing many local activities.
