LISA’s ‘LALISA’ MV, Reaches 100 million Views on YouTube Within Two Days…Record of K-POP Solo Arist
[엑스포츠뉴스=김예은 기자] BLACKPINK LISA’s popularity for her solo album is reaching another level. She is posed to break previous records held by K-POP solo artist one by one with her recent achievements.
According to YG Entertainment, the music video for LISA’s new solo album title song ‘LALISA’ reached more than 100 million views on YouTube as of 2:04 p.m today.
The milestone was reached within two days after it was released at 1 p.m. on the 10th, and is the shortest time record to reach 100 million views among K-pop solo artist music videos. The previous record holder among both male and female solo artists in Korea was PSY’s music video for ‘GENTLEMAN’ which reached the figure in approximately 4 days.
LISA once again made a successful leap as a solo artist being close to the record held by BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ music video which reached 100 million views within 32 hours and 23 minutes.
Not only this but LISA’s solo music video became the 30th BLACKPINK video on YouTube to reach more than 100 million views, adding even more special meaning to the feat. LISA’s LALISA music video is giving a positive impact on the increase in BLACKPINK’s official YouTube subscribers and the views of other videos, garnering even more expectations on how much the impact the popularity will have on the future.
In fact, right before and after LISA’s solo album release which was on the 10th, the subscribers for BLACKPINK’s official YouTube channel increased by 1.2 million in a blink of a time, and currently has 66.1 million subscribers.
Thanks to this, BLACKPINK surpassed Justin Bieber’s record of 651 million subscribers and became the artist with the most YouTube subscribers in the world, making a new milestone in K-pop history.
LISA’s title song ‘LALISA’ took over all various global charts. On the first day of the album release, it topped the iTunes Song Chart in 60 countries, and soon expanded the cumulative no.1 counts to 66 countries.
The album had already recorded 800,000 number of pre-orders during pre-sale period, signaling the best record in K-POP female solo artists’ history. The status of K-POP is soaring along with BLACKPINK’s popularity, who is breaking its very own record every time it releases new music regardless of group or solo projects.
