iKON’s ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ MV Surpasses 500M Views… Sets Group’s Own Best Record
[스타뉴스=윤상근 기자] Idol group iKON’s hit song ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ has surpassed 500M views on YouTube.
According to YG Entertainment on the 24th, the MV for ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ has surpassed 500M YouTube views as of 12:22 PM. It is iKON’s own best record.
The record has more meaning since it was set faster than its predicted timeline. In fact, it took approximately 50 days less for the MV for ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ to reach 500M from 400M than it did from 300M to 400M views.
The MV for ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ received a lot of love from the fans, and was even ranked as the most popular video watched by Korean YouTube users at the time of its release back in 2018. Cover videos and sing-along videos by elementary school children flooded online, giving iKON the nickname ‘Elementary School Presidents’.
‘LOVE SCENARIO’ has achieved remarkable success on music charts. The song was ranked at no. 1 on major Korean music charts for 43 consecutive days and set a milestone by being ranked at no. 1 on Weekly charts for 6 consecutive weeks. iKON also won a total of 11 titles on Korean music broadcast programs and received 2 grand awards(‘The 33rd Golden Disc Awards’ and ‘2018 Melon Music Awards).
‘LOVE SCENARIO’ was also popular overseas. The song topped iTunes Album charts overseas in 17 different countries, The K-Pop Weekly Chart of QQ Music, the biggest music platform in China, for 4 consecutive weeks, and was even ranked at no. 1 on the Japan iTunes Album Comprehensive Chart.
Meanwhile, iKON is receiving favorable reviews through their unique and unrivaled performance they are presenting through Mnet’s ‘Kingdom: Legendary War’. The group has recently reinterpreted BLACKPINK’s ‘Pretty Savage’ as ‘CLASSY SAVAGE’ in their own way, making the global fans cheer through a concert-like performance scale. The video on YouTube containing their performance has currently surpassed 14M views.
