“Biggest Record Among Girl Groups”, BLACKPINK’s ‘Lovesick Girls’ MV Reaches 400M Views

[스포츠조선=조윤선 기자] The MV for ‘Lovesick Girls’, the title track of BLACKPINK’s first official full-length album, has surpassed 400M views.

According to YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK’s ‘Lovesick Girls’ MV has surpassed 400M views on YouTube as of April 19 at 11:55 AM.

The record was achieved in approximately 199 days since its release on October 2. It is BLACKPINK’s 11th video to reach 400M views, which is the biggest record in K-Pop girl group history.

The MV for ‘Lovesick Girls’ received favorable reviews not with strong performance based directing and composition like their existing MVs, but with the BLACKPINK members’ mature inner acting. The video reached explosive views as soon as it was released and reached 100M views in 75 hours. The video was also ranked at no. 1 on YouTube’s Most Watched Video for the Week.

BLACKPINK’s YouTube channel currently has over 60.1M subscribers. They have won the first·best·biggest title among all global female artists and is chasing Justin Bieber, who is currently the most subscribed artist in the world. BLACKPINK is expected to write new history in the near future.

Meanwhile, ‘Lovesick Girls’ has achieved remarkable success on major global music charts. The song was ranked at no. 1 on the ‘Global YouTube Song Top 100’ chart for 2 consecutive weeks, was ranked at no. 3 on the Spotify Global Chart, and entered the US ‘Billboard Hot 100’ as no. 59.

‘THE ALBUM’, which contained this song, topped iTunes Album Charts in 57 different countries including the US. They album reached at total of 1.2M in sales, making BLACKPINK the first-ever K-Pop girl group million sellers.
