[스포츠경향=김서영 기자] The MV for BLACKPINK’s title song ‘Lovesick Girls’ from their official debut album surpassed 200M views on YouTube.
According to YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK’s ‘Lovesick Girls’ MV surpassed 200M views on YouTube as of October 25 at 11:14 AM. The record was achieved in approximately 22 days and 22 hours since its release on the 2nd. It is the fourth fastest record following the MVs for BLACKPINK’s mega-hits including ‘How You Like That’, ‘Ice Cream’, and ‘Kill This Love’.
Furthermore, BLACKPINK continued their meaningful record march of surpassing over 200M views on all title track MVs they’ve ever released since their debut single, ‘BOOMBAYAH’.
‘Lovesick Girls’ is a song with lyrical melody and BLACKPINK’s powerful vocals added on top of country guitar sounds. JISOO and JENNIE participated in the writing and composing of the song.
Since it is an emotional song which asks the fundamental question of why people get hurt and wounded by love and yet go out looking for another, the MV presents BLACKPINK members’ mature act which expresses their inner souls. Unlike their existing MVs which are performance-based, the stories of members make the people feel empathy and make them concentrate and is reviewed to have been a fresh challenge.
BLACKPINK has a total of 22 videos with over 100M views. The MV for ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ has recently surpassed 1.3B views, while MVs for ‘Kill This Love’ and ‘BOOMBAYAH’ have surpassed 1B views. BLACKPINK is the only K-Pop artist to have 3 MVs with over 1B views.
BLACKPINK’s YouTube channel also accumulated subscribers at a fast pace and is currently at 52M. They’ve added 14M subscribers ever since the release of their pre-release single ‘How You Like That’(37.4M subscribers as of 6/26) and is heading to become the most subscribed artist in the entire globe.
