iKON’s ‘Why Why Why’ Tops Major Japanese Monthly Chart… Proves Thier ‘Global Music Power’
[한국경제TV=유병철 기자] iKON has topped the monthly chart of a major Japanese music platform, proving their global music power.
According to YG Entertainment on April 1, iKON’s digital single ‘Why Why Why’ was ranked at no. 1 on Japan Rakuten Music’s Monthly Chart of March.
The result was accomplished after the song topped the real-time comprehensive rankings after its release and maintaining its no. 1 position on the Daily Charts.
iKON has topped Japan’s Oricon Chart as soon as they’ve debuted and won the ‘Japan Golden Disc Award’ as well as receiving the rookie of the year award at the ‘Japan Record Awards’, creating a sensation. Furthermore, they have gathered a total of 1M in accumulated audience through the ‘iKON JAPAN TOUR 2019’.
The digital single ‘Why Why Why’ is about ended love, which beautifully bloomed but eventually faded away like a flower. After proving their sturdy popularity by topping various global charts including iTunes charts in 10 different countries, iKON will continue their momentum by appearing on Mnet’s boy group competition program ‘Kingdom’, which premieres today(1st).
iKON has previously shown their determination by spending nights at the practice room, working on both ‘Why Why Why’ and ‘Kingdom’.
The people are paying keen attention to the new aspects they will bring through their freewheeling energy and powerful stage performances, as the group has already released numerous hits in the past and has been loved by fans in and out of Korea.
