BLACKPINK ROSÉ Opens Personal YouTube Channel
[마이데일리=박윤진 기자] While ROSÉ of group BLACKPINK captivated the global fans with her solo album, she also opened her personal YouTube channel.
ROSÉ opened her personal YouTube channel named ‘ROSÉ’ and uploaded an interview film.
The film showed ROSÉ’s childhood. The free and active child ran across the snow sled site and danced to the music. ROSÉ smiling brightly as a child warmed the viewers’ hearts.
ROSÉ reminisced why her Australian name was ROESANNE, the house she lived during her childhood, and when she liked to take naps. She reminisced, “I played the piano after I woke up. It was fun. That’s when I started to love music”.
ROSÉ confessed, “I sometimes wondered what it meant to be good in music”. She added, “Listening to music wasn’t as enjoyable at the time” and revealed her solidified inner self by continuing, “After multiple events, I felt that it is important to speak with my life experiences through music. Music comforts me nowadays”.
She also revealed that she now has a new dream as an artist. She stated, “When I was young, I wanted to be like Beyonce or Michael Jackson. (However) These days, I try to become a happy artist who is stable”. She added, “I promised myself that I will enjoy each and every process of my solo debut”.
Her sincere interview film, looking back into what’s the most important thing in life, is raising empathy among many people. It also shared the message of ‘On The Ground’, the title track of her solo single album ‘R’.
‘On The Ground’ is a song with lyrics which state, ‘I’ve always worked and aimed for a higher place, but the most important value is within myself’. In the MV, ROSÉ faces her from the past and expresses what she mentioned in the interview.
ROSÉ will appear on Mnet ‘M Countdown’ today and perform ‘On The Ground’ and ‘Gone’. It has been approximately 4 years and 4 months since ROSÉ appeared on ‘M Countdown’, since BLACKPINK performed ‘PLAYING WITH FIRE’ back in November 2016.
Starting with her performance at SBS ‘Inkigayo’ on the 14th, ROSÉ began her solo debut promotional activities by also performing on NBC’s ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ on the 16th(local time).
Meanwhile, approximately 280 thousand copies of ROSÉ’s solo album ‘R’ were sold in a day since its release on the 16th, and the album was ranked at no. 1 on the albums category of Hanteo charts. Since the album also received over 500 thousand pre-orders, the initial sales record is expected to increase even further. It is the best album sales record set in Korean female solo artist history.
The MV for the title track ‘On The Ground’ is also achieving successful results. With over 1.2M viewers watching simultaneously, it set the best YouTube Premiere MV watching record in K-Pop solo artist history. The MV is also about to surpass 100M views, so ROSÉ is expected to continue setting milestones in K-Pop female solo artist history.
