[TV리포트=김명신 기자] YOON proved his matured acting skills and various charms through the drama ‘Kairos’, proving his presence as a singing actor once again.

YOON passionately played the role of Gunwook on the MBC Monday-Tuesday miniseries titled ‘Kairos(Written by Lee Suhyun, Directed by Park Seungwoo)’, which ended on the 22nd. He received a lot of love with his role as Aeri(Lee Saeyoung)’s handsome ‘male friend’ assistant. He also received positive reviews by perfectly pulling off his important role of discovering leads on the drama’s case of time crossing.

YOON’s delicate and high-density inner acting stood out as the show progressed. His broadened emotional spectrum after Aeri’s death and passionate action scenes are reviewed to have made the drama more interesting. We met YOON, who shows his colors through not only music but also acting performances and talked about the details.

Q. What are your thoughts on finishing the drama ‘Kairos’?

YOON: I’ve fused myself to the role of ‘Gunwook’ for about half a year. It was grateful to learn many things in a good environment with many good people, and I feel a bit frustrated now that I have to let all of it go. I was able to enjoy acting at every moment happily, as I personally believe it was the best shooting environment”.

Q. Are there any best scenes or quotes by Gunwook you personally remember?

YOON: “It wasn’t actually broadcasted on the show, but there was a scene I liked the most. After Aeri’s death, he gets an opportunity to talk to Aeri from a month ago through Seojin(Shin Sungrok). Gunwook suppresses his emotions after saying, ‘I won’t do it now. Because I’m going to save her’. I liked it while monitoring it during the shooting and that the dialogue included Gunwook’s will. I also had a lot of physical scenes. I pulled off the action scene of hitting and getting beat up by Taekgyu(Jo Dongin) almost without stunts. I received positive reviews from the scene that it was natural, so that was also a memorable moment”.

Q. What was the part you focused on the most when expressing Gunwook’s character and were there any difficulties.

YOON: “I focused not to lose himself. Gunwook is put in a lot of situations, when he’s with Aeri, when Aeri’s dead, and when he collaborates with Seojin. I thought it was important for me to speak with Gunwook’s heart. It was difficult to hold on to the emotions as Gunwook went through different timeframes as the show progressed, but I controlled my mind to hold on to the character’s heart and feelings”.

Q. How is your attitude as actor YOON and were there any parts you felt that you’ve grown through the drama?

YOON: “It is to ‘learn hard’. It’s most definite that you have to focus on acting and sink into your role, but I go a step further and try to do my best and learn in every scene. Thankfully, the director and senior actors gave me many detailed and great advice. I tried to listen to them with attention and make them my own. There were parts I could’ve done better, but I feel grateful that many people tell me I’ve grown”.

Q. You’ve received favorable reviews by participating on the ‘Kairos’ OST, ‘CAN YOU HEAR ME’. What were your thoughts and were there any behind stories on the recording.

YOON: “Thankfully, the composers of the song let me handle a lot of things. I’ve put in a lot of content from ‘Kairos’ when I recorded. Like the title of the song ‘CAN YOU HEAR ME’, a minute of time to communicate with each other is important in our drama. I sang while focusing on bringing out those meanings as much as I can. I also tried to match my vocal tone to the drama, and I feel grateful that the viewers empathized and left positive reviews”.

Q. Last words for the viewers who’ve watched until the end.

YOON: “It was grateful to feel the passionate love of ‘Kairos’ fans. I was impressed that you’ve shown sharp reactions when Gunwook betrayed Aeri in the beginning and showed reliable support afterwards, always presenting honest emotions empathizing with the character. Those reactions made me feel ‘I’ve done pretty well’ as Gunwook. I sincerely thank you for your passionate support and for staying with ‘Kairos’ until the end”.
