BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ MV Surpasses 700M Views in 6 Months
[연합뉴스=오보람 기자] Girl group BLACKPINK’s MV for their hit song ‘How You Like That’ has surpassed 700M views in 6 months.
According to YG Entertainment on December 19, the MV has surpassed 700M views on YouTube as of today at 11:25 AM.
The record was achieved in 176 days since its release on June 26, which makes it the fastest MV released by BLACKPINK to surpass 700M views.
The MV reached 86.3M views in a day since its release, setting a Guinness World Record by becoming the ‘Most viewed video on YouTube in 24 hours’. The video then surpassed 100M views in approximately 32 hours, 200M views in 7 days, and 300M views in 21 days, racking up view counts at a fast pace.
‘How You Like That’ was a pre-release single from BLACKPINK’s official debut album ‘THE ALBUM’, a dance track based on the genre of Hip-hop.
The song set the best K-Pop records at two of the biggest Pop charts in the world including the US Billboard ‘Hot 100’(no. 33) and UK’s Official Singles Chart(no. 20) at the time.
The song was also selected as the ‘Song of the Summer’ at the ‘US MTV Video Music Awards’ and was ranked at no. 1 on YouTube’s ‘Global Top Summer Songs’ list.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK has a total of 5 MVs with over 700M views including ‘BOOMBAYAH’, ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’, ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’, and ‘Kill This Love’.
