TREASURE Tops Gaon’s Weekly Album Chart
[한국일보=홍혜민 기자] YG’s rookie boy group TREASURE topped Gaon’s Weekly Album Chart.
According to Gaon Charts on November 19, TREASURE’s third single album ‘THE FIRST STEP : CHAPTER THREE’ was ranked at no. 1 for the 46th week(2020.11.08~2020.11.14) of 2020 in the album sales category.
TREASURE’s third single album was released on the 13th. The album sales add up to approximately 214,000 at the moment. Since TREASURE is planning to engage in promotional activities with the album until the end of the year, album sales are expected to increase.
TREASAURE is dominating various charts with their unrivaled album sales after making debut on August 7. Their first and second single albums reached a total of 500 thousand sales, 250 thousand each, which means that TREASURE’s ‘THE FIRST STEP’ series has sold a total of 700 thousand copies.
It stands out the most among all rookie groups who have made debut this year. By releasing 3 new songs for the past 3 months and actively engaging on promotional activities, it is analyzed that new global fans are rapidly joining the existing TREASURE Makers(fandom).
TREASURE has noticed to release their official debut album, the finale version of their ‘THE FIRST SERIES’, next year on January. Official albums tend to reach higher sales compared to single albums, Considering the fact, TREASURE’s goal of becoming million sellers is highly likely to become reality.
Meanwhile, TREASURE released their third single album ‘THE FIRST STEP : CHAPTER THREE’ on the 6th. The title song ‘MMM’ topped Japan’s Line Music Top 100 chart and Rakuten Music’s Real-time Comprehensive Rankings, as well as iTunes charts in 8 different countries.
