TREASURE, the 12 Harmony Shined Through ‘ORANGE’… Presents Different Charms from ‘MMM’
[엑스포츠뉴스=김예은 기자] YG’s rookie group TREASURE wetted the global fans’ hearts through a fantastic harmony shown through ‘ORANGE’, an emotional Ballad track different from their fierce Hip-hop title song, ‘MMM’.
On November 20 at 6 PM, YG Entertainment uploaded the live video of the song ‘ORANGE’ from TREASURE’s third single album through their official blog. The video made people forget about the Hip-hop swag and fierce performances shown by TREASURE until now.
The members presented the live performance of ‘ORANGE’ in a space colored in orange, like the sunset. The 12 members singing under the calm and warm background touched the viewers’ hearts.
TREASURE’s deep eyes, sturdy vocals, and appealing rap skills stood out. The members delicately expressed the emotion of not wanting to part with each other while raising the mood, and the 12 members singing together in harmony after the emotional peak shown through the bridge part was the highlight of the live video.
The song ‘ORANGE’ is a Ballad genre song which emphasizes emotions of Newtro and Lo-fi through a fresh prism called TREASURE. Until each other turns to orange under the sunset, the lyrics of the song shows how they hold on to time because they do not want to part with each other while the song’s lyrical melody sounds fresh yet familiar. The song is receiving love from the fans as much as the title song ‘MMM’.
Meanwhile, TREASURE is dominating various charts with their unrivaled album sales record achieved in 100 days after making debut on August 7.
TREASURE’s third single album ‘THE FIRST STEP : CHAPTER THREE’, released on November 13, was ranked at no. 1 for the 46th week(2020.11.08~2020.11.14) of 2020 on Gaon Chart’s Weekly Album chart with over 210 thousand copies sold.
Considering that their first and second single albums reached a total of 500 thousand sales, 250 thousand each, which means that TREASURE’s ‘THE FIRST STEP’ series has sold a total of 700 thousand copies.
After dominating Japan’s Line Music Top 100 chart and Rakuten Music’s Real-time Comprehensive Rankings to expand their global popularity, TREASURE has confirmed their appearances on major year-end award ceremonies including ‘MAMA’ and ‘AAA’ and is regarded as a strong rookie of the year award nominee.
