“Different From AKMU”… Why We Look Forward to ‘ALIEN’, LEE SUHYUN’s New Challenge

LEE SUHYUN has previously noticed her dramatic transformation through the ‘ALIEN’ lyric poster, MV teaser, and choreography spoiler video. Her extraordinary styling in mint-colored hair and glamorous makeup made the viewers expect her musical transformation and challenge.
The people are also paying keen attention on the identity and abilities of ‘ALIEN’, which touched the music fans’ imagination. LEE SUHYUN hinted, “The story begins as a mother confesses a secret she’s been hiding from her daughter” and added, “I hope many people will receive courage and positive energy”.
According to YG Entertainment, ‘ALIEN’ as a song in a Dance Pop genre. The exciting and mystic melody of the song stands out along with LEE SUHYUN’s high pitched vocals. It is a challenge made by LEE SUHYUN as a ‘solo artist’, who will break bounds from the acoustic band sounds which represent AKMU.
It is expected that LEE SUHYUN’s unique charms, her confidence and character which are differentiated from AKMU, will shine on the listeners.
The MV teaser was different. The MV teaser showed LEE SUHYUN making a significant facial expression while looking at an alien trophy, clues on ‘ALIEN’ located here and there along with LEE SUHYUN riding a motorcycle with her fluttering pink hair which reminded the viewers of a space hero, raising curiosities on the full version MV.
LEE SUHYUN’s performance of ‘ALIEN’ was also impressive. She was expressed as a character one would see from an SF comic book, presenting odd vibes. In the end, she posed with dancers dressed as aliens, noticing her upcoming glamorous performances.
LEE SUHYUN stated, “I’m happy and excited to present my solo single which I’ve prepared diligently” and added, “I wanted to present an odd and fresh character which I haven’t been able to through AKMU, and the results were attractive”.
LEE CHAN HYUK, the artist who knows LEE SUHYUN’s musical spectrum and strengths more than anyone, supported her. LEE CHAN HYUK was not only credited as the writer and composer of ‘ALIEN’, but also took the role as the main producer, raising the song’s level of completion.
