BLACKPINK ROSÉ·LISA’s Individual Teasers Revealed… Dark Charisma and ‘Irresistible Beauty’
[텐아시아=김예랑 기자] With 5 days left until their comeback, BLACKPINK revealed individual member teaser clips, grabbing the attention of global fans.
On September 27 at 9 AM, YG Entertainment uploaded ‘THE ALBUM’ teaser videos of ROSÉ and LISA through their official blog. In a dark space, ROSÉ and LISA grabbed the viewers’ attention by walking towards somewhere. Their lonely mood presented in the dark background with a bit of noise reminded the viewers of a noir film.
ROSÉ grabbed the people’s attention with her long silver hair, turning towards the camera with her chic charms. The irregular lights showed ROSÉ’s facial expressions, which looked both sentimental and lonely yet irresistibly beautiful.
LISA appeared while wearing a jacket with studs, presenting her dark charisma. LISA’s hair, outfit, and facial expressions then crossfaded, as she fascinated the viewers with her empty looking eyes.
As the individual member poster concepts of ‘THE ALBUM’ continued throughout the teaser clips, the videos raised the fans’ curiosities even further. In the end of the teaser, a short sound clip was inserted as if it hinted their upcoming song, raising anticipation of the fans as well.
BLACKPINK will release their long-awaited official debut album ‘THE ALBUM’ on October 2, in 4 years since making debut. As they will target the global market, the release time will be 12 AM in US EST and 1 PM KST on the same day.
BLACKPINK’s pre-release singles ‘How You Like That’ and ‘Ice Cream’ from their upcoming official debut album, ‘THE ALBUM’, both became tremendous hits, raising the group’s presence in the global music market.
‘How You Like That’ received an award at the US MTV Video Music Awards and was selected as ‘The Best Song of the Summer’ by YouTube. Furthermore, the song ‘Ice Cream’ collaborated with Selena Gomez set the best K-Pop girl group record in history by being ranked at no. 13 on the US Billboard ‘Hot 100’ chart and successfully charted in for 3 consecutive weeks.
The two songs presented BLACKPINK’s contrasting charms, which added more meaning to their success. ‘How You Like That’ presented BLACKPINK’s unique girl crush and strong performances coming from Hip-hop based sounds, while ‘Ice Cream’ is a Pop genre song with cute and fresh concepts, which the group has presented for the first time.
Physical copies of BLACKPINK’s official debut album, ‘THE ALBUM’, will be released through nationwide retailers online and offline on October 6. With the popularity of ‘both’ pre-release singles, BLACKPINK’s ‘THE ALBUM’ first pre-order sales have been aggregated as 800 thousand copies in just 6 days.
