YG TREASURE Confirms Fast Comeback on the 18th… “Fiercer Song Than ‘BOY’”, Expectations↑
[OSEN=심언경 기자] YG’s rookie group TREASURE has confirmed their upcoming comeback on the 18th, and will continue their global popularity storm.
On September 7, YG Entertainment uploaded the teaser poster for TREASURE’s second single album ‘THE FIRST STEP : CHAPTER TWO’ through their official blog.
While the red heart design raised curiosities on the new song’s concept, the phrase ‘2020.09.18’ announced the album release date. It is in 42 days since the release of TREASURE’s first single album ‘THE FIRST STEP : CHAPTER ONE’, released back in August 7. TREASURE is making a fast comeback, in over just a month.
Detailed information on TREASURE’s new album is still in veil. However, YG has previously announced news regarding their MV shooting and revealed that “The song will be fiercer that their debut single ‘BOY’”, raising the people’s anticipation.
TREASURE is YG’s rookie group presented in 4 years since BLACKPINK, who has received attention as a group targeting the global market from the start. The group is composed of 12 members including CHOI HYUN SUK, JIHOON, YOSHI, JUNKYU, MASHIHO, YOON JAE HYUK, ASAHI, BANG YE DAM, DOYOUNG, HARUTO, PARK JEONG WOO, and SO JUNG HWAN.
Their title song ‘BOY’ from their debut single album ‘THE FIRST STEP : CHAPTER ONE’ topped iTunes Song charts in 19 countries, topped the daily chart of Line Music, which is the biggest music platform in Japan, and even topped China QQ Music’s Top Rising chart.
TREASURE’s YouTube channel has also been gathering subscribers at a fast pace after the group’s debut and has currently surpassed 2M subscribers. The group has also been placed on the top ranks of US Billboard’s ‘Social 50’ chart and ‘Emerging Artists’ chart consistently.
Furthermore, the group also achieved over 200 thousand album sales despite being rookies, proving themselves as the biggest rookie K-Pop group who has made debut this year with their remarkable success achieved on both online music charts and physical album sales.
