AKMU, “The Musicians Who Make Lively Music”, to Make Comeback Today in 2 Years
[서울뉴스=황미현기자] AKMU will release their 3rd official album titled ‘SAILING’ on the 25th at 6 PM through various music platforms, which will be their comeback in approximately 2 years.
YG Entertainment raised the fans’ expectations by revealing AKMU’s comeback D-DAY poster, a comeback counter, and an album production video titled ‘SAILING LOG’ on the same day.
The video cross-edits LEE CHAN HYUK and LEE SU HYUN’s confessions with the song ‘Sailor’s Song’ as the background. It presents AKMU’s inner thoughts which have not been previously revealed. The video also contains various emotions AKMU felt in their 6th year since making debut and while they were working on their latest album.
LEE SU HYUN confessed, “I’ve never felt so emotionally agitated while singing our own songs”. She continued, “I don’t know why, I must love myself a lot”.
AKMU’s upcoming album, created after a long thought process, contains a total of 10 tracks including the title song ‘How Can I Love the Heartbreak, You’re the One I Love’, ‘Sailor’s Song’, ‘A Fish In Water’, ‘Moon’, ‘FREEDOM’, ‘Should Have Loved More’, ‘Whale’, ‘Endless Nights’, ‘Goodbye’, and ‘Let’s Take Some Time’.
On the date of their comeback, AKMU shared their thoughts by stating, “We will be satisfied if the public feels that we are musicians who create lively music”. They added, “We’re finally revisiting you with music which we longed for and wanted the most. Thank you for waiting, and we hope to see you again more often”.
The album ‘SAILING’ deals with the theme of ‘breakup’ with the keyword ‘leaving’. They dealt with the emotions of breakup, which may turn a bit heavy, blandly and with coolness utilizing live band sounds.
The demo version of the title song ‘How Can I Love the Heartbreak, You’re the One I Love’ was previously revealed through ‘Someday Festival’ back in 2017 before LEE CHAN HYUK was enlisted in the army and was chosen as the title song with new arrangement which minimalized its components.
LEE CHAN HYUK showed off his capabilities as a musician by participating in the writing and composing of all tracks on their upcoming album. LEE SU HYUN also showed her musical growth by participating in the arrangement of track no. 9, ‘Goodbye’.
AKMU will hold an outdoor listening party called ‘Sailing on an Autumn Night’ on the 29th at 7:30 PM in Mulbit Stage Hangang Park, Yeouido. Anyone can watch their live ban performance with no cost, while the event will also be broadcasted live through Naver Now and VLIVE.
