YouTube Announces That BLACKPINK Set A New ‘World Record’ With The Most Watched Video In 24 Hours

[스포츠조선 조윤선 기자] BLACKPINK’s ‘KILL THIS LOVE’ set a new world record on YouTube as the most watched video in the first 24 hours.

According to YouTube on April 8(KST), the MV for ‘KILL THIS LOVE’ reached 56.7 million views in 24 hours since the video was released on April 5 at 0 AM. Their new record surpasses existing records held by global POP stars.

In addition, the MV for ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ by BLACKPINK was also ranked at no. 6 on the same category.

BLACKPINK’s ‘KILL THIS LOVE’ topped iTunes Song charts in 37 different regions of the world including the US, as soon as the song was released to the public. The song set a meaningful record by becoming the first song by a K-Pop girl group to top the US iTunes Song chart.

Furthermore, the song was ranked at no. 4 on Spotify’s Global Top50 chart and at no. 35 on the US Top50 chart. Spotify is currently the largest music platform in the world with the greatest number of users. It is also known as the most influential music platform of the world.
