YG “Awesome Solo Duo”… ‘Proud’ at MINO X JENNIE’s Double Domination of Music Charts
[일간스포츠=황소영 기자] YG Entertainment’s YANG HYUN SUK revealed his proud feelings at WINNER MINO and BLACKPINK JENNIE’s solo success.
On December 1, representative YANG HYUN SUK wrote, “Awesome solo duo” and uploaded a photo on his social media account. The photo included a screenshot of the real-time chart of Melon, which is Korea’s largest music platform, along with photos of albums with MINO and JENNIE’s autographs on them. MINO and JENNIE are placed at no. 1 and no. 2 on the music chart, respectively.
The song ‘FIANCÉ’ samples a popular song from the 70s titled ‘Soyanggang Maid’, combining the genre of Hip-Hop and trot. The fresh combination of Hip-Hop and trot has conquered the K-Pop scene, proving MINO’s aspect as a true artist.
As of today, at 11 AM, the song was placed at no. 1 on major real-time charts including Melon, Olleh, and Genie. His first-ever solo album is marking its strong presence by maintaining its top spot for 6 consecutive days, ever since the album was released. In addition, the MV for ‘FIANCÉ’ reached 12 million views on YouTube, proving the heated interest on MINO’s new track.
JENNIE’s first digital single ‘SOLO’ topped major Korean charts for 15 consecutive days, while also dominating weekly charts. The song also topped the Digital and Streaming Charts announced by Gaon Chart, known as the comprehensive K-Pop chart, for 2 consecutive weeks. She also topped iTunes Charts in 40 different countries, topped the iTunes Worldwide Song Chart for the first time as a Korean female solo artist, and entered the US iTunes Top 10, establishing herself as a global diva.
