BLACKPINK JENNIE To Appear on U.S. Drama ‘The Idol’…Starring Along The Weekend and Troye Sivan
[헤럴드경제=서병기 기자] YG Entertainment said on the 19th that BLACKPINK JENNIE will be making an appearance on U.S. HBO’s new drama series ‘The Idol’.
The series garnered great attention from the beginning with famous pop artist Abel Tesfaye (The Weekend) producing the work.
‘The Idol will’ draw on relationships surrounding a pop idol and unfold the music industry world, notifying thrilling excitement to the audience.
Not only JENNIE, but top global artists such as The Weekend, Lily Rose-Depp, and Troye Sivan will also make an appearance. Their participation in the series is expected to allow viewers focus on the setting of the series even more.
JENNIE’s role hasn’t been unveiled just yet. Despite so, global fans are paying attention to her first acting career, as she’s been proving her unrivaled presence as a BLACKPINK member and a solo artist.
JENNIE said “I really wanted to be part of this because I felt like the scenario was so appealing”. She then added, “I’m really excited. Please show warm support as I’ll do my absolute best.”
Meanwhile, HBO is a premium channel that is being loved around the world after producing various hit films and series such as ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Chernobyl’. The exact date of when ‘The Idol’ starring JENNIE will be aired hasn’t decided. BLACKPINK is set to make a comeback as a whole group in August.
