BLACKPINK JENNIE’s MV for ‘SOLO’ Surpasses 55 Million Views… Behind-the-Scenes of UK London Filming Revealed

On November 16 at 10 AM, YG Entertainment uploaded the diary video of JENNIE’s ‘SOLO’ through their official blog.
The video contained the filming scenes of ‘SOLO’ in short diary format, shot on various locations of London.
Prior to the MV shooting, JENNIE prepared her hair and make-up. She then started fixing the accessories prepared by the prop team while stating, “I’m being possessed (to the main character of the MV)”, then headed to the outdoor shooting scene despite the cold weather.
During the indoor shooting, she explained her freckles makeup by stating, “We drew the freckle details”. While filming the room decorated with love, she introduced, “This is the princess room. I wish my real room looks like this”, despite her busy schedule.
JENNIE looked into the scenes filmed in various concepts while stating, “We don’t have much time to monitor. The sun sets fast in London, so we must be quick. Shouldn’t we make a short film?”.
In addition, the diary video revealed various scenes of the MV for ‘SOLO’ including the mansion, garden, streets filled with graffiti, and merry-go-round where ‘SOLO’ has been filmed at.
JENNIE’s digital single ‘SOLO’ is still maintaining its no. 1 spot on major Korean music charts as of November 18. The song is keeping its top spot for 7 days since its release on the 12th.
The MV for ‘SOLO’ surpassed 55 million views in just 5 days, continuing to increase steadily. The ‘SOLO’ CHOREOGRAPHY UNEDITED VERSION video reached 9 million views in 2 days, while the CHOREOGRAPHY ALTERNATE EDITED VERSION video surpassed 1 million views since the video was uploaded on the 17th at 5 PM.
‘SOLO’ topped iTunes Charts in 40 different countries as soon as the song was released, while also topping the iTunes Worldwide Song Chart for the first time as a song releases by a Korean female solo artist. The record had more meaning since it was achieved among global Pop stars including Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande. The song also entered the US iTunes Top 10 for the first time as a Korean artist’s release. The MV for the song became the most watched MV in the world in 24 hours for two consecutive days, proving JENNIE’s global influence.
