iKON Completes ‘PiKONIC DAY’ With 5,000 Sing-Along Fans… “An Unforgettable Memory”
[OSEN=지민경 기자] iKON’s ‘PiKONIC DAY’ was successfully wrapped up with 5,000 audience singing along with the group.
On August 4 at 5:30 PM, iKON held the ‘PiKONIC DAY’ event in Hangang Park, Yebit Island located in Seoul. The event was planned to repay the love received by kindergarten and elementary school children on the song ‘LOVE SCENARIO’.
Despite the heat of August which surpassed 37 degrees celsius, children, students, couples, and families gathered and filled up the seats in Yebit Island to meet iKON.
There were various events planned for the children and families prior to the main performance. People lined up in front of the photo zone, while others participated in events including the ‘family arcade’ and ‘lyric changing contest’ hosted by daily MC Park Sungkwang.
There was also a special performance by teams who won the cover contest that was held from July 25 until the 30th. iKON made a special appearance while the no. 1 team ‘Tove Children’s Choir’ was performing, making the audience cheer out loud.
iKON stated, “Please cheer for the 3 teams who displayed a wonderful performance” and added, “Thank you for the wait in this heated weather. Let’s party hard! Everyone sing along with us”.
iKON performed their debut single ‘MY TYPE’ and followed up with their hits including ‘RHYTHM TA’ and ‘DUMB & DUMBER’. The members came down from the main stage occasionally to shake hands and take selfies with the fans, touching the audience with their amazing fan service.
They also performed the new title song ‘KILLING ME’ from their recently released mini album, which topped iTunes Charts in 24 different countries which made the crowd roar.
After ending the concert with the song ‘LOVE SCENARIO’, iKON said goodbyes for the people who visited the event.
iKON stated, “Everyone, thank you for being here today. It was so fun that we forgot about the sweltering heat. It will be a memorable event we won’t forget. Please continue to support iKON”.
iKON re-wrote K-Pop boy group history in the past 10 years with the song ‘LOVE SCENARIO’, by topping music charts for 43 consecutive days. The group is showing signs of another mega hit with the song ‘KILLING ME’, preparing to dominate the 2nd half of 2018 following their success during the first half.
iKON will appear on ‘Inkigayo’ today (5th) and meet the fans through their comeback performance of ‘KILLING ME’.
