[엑스포츠뉴스=김주애 기자] The best producer in Korea sees something different in trainees. He met trainees from all parts of the country, handpicked those who he thinks are rough diamonds and made them go on the MIXNINE bus.

The first episode of JTBC’s MIXNINE aired on October 29, and it featured YANG HYUN SUK and CL visiting various entertainment agencies to choose the trainees that can participate in MIXNINE.

Earlier on the show, he announced that he will pick nine who can go on the debut team bus and nine for the trainee bus. Then, he started the agency tour along with the show’s emcee Noh Hong Chul and CL.

The first agency they visited was Yama & Hotchicks, which is headed by Bae Yoon Jung. She talked about the difficulties of running an agency in tears and said, ”To be frank, we are having money problems right now. I sometimes want to send them to a bigger agency.” YANG HYUN SUK picked four out of their eight trainees.

Then they went to Banana Culture, the CEO of which is Shinsadong Tiger. There, YANG HYUN SUK met Lee Jae Jun, who once debuted as C Clown. Lee Jae Jun confessed that he had auditioned before YANG HYUN SUK once. YANG HYUN SUK criticized his performance severely and said, “You haven’t changed a bit during the past six years.” But he still gave Lee Jae Jun a chance and told him it may be his last.

The MIXNINE bus even went to Ganghwado to see the trainees of FM Entertainment. The members of FM Entertainment’s idol group M.O.N.T put on an excellent performance although they only been training for eight months. They seemed to really enjoy singing and dancing, which left a favorable impression on YANG HYUN SUK.

Then, YANG HYUN SUK visited A100 and could not stop smiling. The pretty female trainees of A100 showed off their star quality to YANG HYUN SUK and even made him say, “What can’t YG trainees to that in front of me?” YANG HYUN SUK picked three A100 trainees for the bus.

Next up was Basecamp. There, YANG HYUN SUK met Nam Yoo Jin, a.k.a. Eyedi. She collaborated with Jeff Bernat once and said, “I don’t want to be an idol, but an artist.”

However, someone else in Basecamp caught YANG HYUN SUK’s eye and that was Jung Sara. She put on a perfect performance and everything was impeccable from her rap to dance, which won her a spot on the debut team bus. YANG HYUN SUK pondered about whether to choose Nam Yoo Jin and, in the end, gave her a pass.

YANG HYUN SUK’s next stop was Fave Entertainment, IU’s agency. They had 11 talented female trainees. After seeing them perform as a team, YANG HYUN SUK commented, “I think the eleven of you can debut as a group right now.”

Among the eleven, there was Son Ye Lim, a contestant of Super Star K 3. It’s been six years since she appeared on the show. On MIXNINE, she sang “Now, I Hope So” in tears. However, YANG HYUN SUK wanted to exclude former contestants of other survival shows, so Son Ye Lim failed to get on the bus. YANG HYUN SUK chose eight out of the eleven trainees of Fave Entertainment.

Then, YANG HYUN SUK visited Brave Entertainment where he met Brave Brothers for the first time in ten years. They had a misunderstanding, but they managed to clear things up. The trainees of Brave Entertainment showed what they got, but only one was chosen. It was Yoo Jin Kyung, who only trained for about two months. It was something that Brave Brothers did not expect.

At the Staro Entertainment, there were male trainees that won YANG HYUN SUK’s heart. Seven O’Clock, a group that already debuted, Kim Sang Won, who had the voice and looks of T.O.P, and Song Han Kyum, a member of Allrounder, are all signed to Staro Entertainment. As expected, Kim Sang Won and Song Han Kyum were able to win a spot in the debut team bus and took the seats of Yoo Jin Kyung and Chang Hyo Kyung in the Mercedes Benz.
