[DAY Cut] Teaser of BOBBY’s “RUNAWAY” Expresses “the feeling of wanting to run away because pursuing your dreams get too difficult at times”
[동아닷컴=홍세영 기자] A teaser video of BOBBY’s “RUNAWAY”, one of the title tracks of his solo debut album, was released.
On September 11, YG Entertainment posted a teaser of the “RUNAWAY” music video on its official blog before its release on September 14.
BOBBY proved his great song writing skills a few years ago when he appeared on Show Me The Money, and the news of his first solo album has got many excited. BOBBY’s solo album “LOVE AND FALL” will have ten tracks, and expectations are already running high for the music and message BOBBY will be conveying through his solo album.
A part of “RUNAWAY” was revealed today for the first time. BOBBY sings “I wanna run away” to sad guitar sounds. The teaser video shows BOBBY sitting alone on a high overpass and running in the dark.
The message of “RUNAWAY” is “When I look into the mirror, I see someone that’s not who I used to be. I want to chase my dreams, but I have my responsibilities. If you see me stumble, take me away from here. I wanna run away”.
BOBBY explained, “The song expresses the feeling of wanting to run away in the middle of pursuing your dreams because at times you feel tired or everything becomes so difficult.”
“RUNAWAY” boasts BOBBY’s great rapping skills as well as his gentle vocals. The song is written by BOBBY and composed by him and CHOICE37, YG’s main producer.
Last week, the complete track list of BOBBY’s solo album was revealed, and it has been announced that the title tracks of the album are “I Love You” and “RUNAWAY”.
What’s interesting is that, for the past 20 years, no YG male group members, with the exception of BIGBANG members, released a solo regular album.
YG is often referred to as a jewel box, and the fact that BOBBY is releasing a solo album shows that it has great confidence in BOBBY’s music and is willing to take the risk.
iKON will be making a comeback shortly after BOBBY releases his solo album, and many are curious as to how BOBBY’s solo album will affect iKON.
“LOVE AND FALL” will be released online first on September 14. The album will be sold offline from September 15 at record stores and on YG Eshop.
