[Exclusive Interview] YANG HYUN SUK “So happy that SECHSKIES is making debut in Japan… Went to Japan to directly root for them”
[OSEN=김은애 기자] YG Entertainment’s CEO YANG HYUN SUK is coming forward for SECHSKIES’ official debut in Japan. He is sparing no support for SECHSKIES and directly visiting Japan to help the team.
On July 20, YANG said to OSEN, “I am visiting Japan this time to directly root for SECHSKIES’ debut in Japan. BLACKPINK’s debut in Japan is of course important, but I personally wanted to directly root for SECHSKIES as the team is making an overseas debut for the first time in 20 years since their debut”.
SECHSKIES released “THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY-Japan Edition” album in Japan on July 19. The album has Japanese versions of SECHSKIES’ hit songs including “BE WELL”, “SAD SONG”, and “TRHEE WORDS” that enjoyed great popularity in Korea.
More than anything, SECHSKIES is making debut in a foreign country for the first time. SECHSKIES has realized the dream of expanding their career overseas for the first time in 20 years since their debut, with the support from YG Entertainment.
YANG HYUN SUK has been actively working for SECHSKIES’ debut in Japan for the past one year. He has directly led the project and visited Japan to root for SECHSKIES, on the date of the team’s debut in the country.
YANG also posted photos of the SECHSKIES promotion truck on his personal Instagram account. The truck is decorated with SECHSKIES’ photos and it ran on main streets in Tokyo, to proclaim SECHSKIES’ debut in the country.
Because of such promotion, SECHSKIES’ debut in Japan is drawing keen attention in the country. On July 23, SECHSKIES will host a fan meeting event at Yokohama Bay Hall located in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan.
SECHSKIES has been building more successful career than in the past since their reunion last year, boasting still-formidable popularity. There has been no case for a reunited idol group in Korea to expand their career and make debut overseas. As such, SECHSKIES is writing new history in Korea’s music scene, with full support from YG Entertainment.
ECHSKIES is finally making an overseas debut for the first time in 20 years since their debut. Music fans are keenly interested in how big popularity the team will enjoy in Japan and how widely their overseas career will expand.
