[Exclusive] AKMU will make a surprise comeback… “Already completed music video shooting in Jeju Island”
[OSEN=엄동진 기자] Brother and sister duo AKMU (LEE CHAN HYUK and LEE SU HYUN) is making a surprise comeback.
According to music industry insiders, AKMU will release a new song during this July. Whether it will be in the form of a full album or a single is yet to be known.
According to insiders, AKMU has recently completed music video shooting for the title track, at a beach in Jeju Island. Accordingly, music fans will be able to enjoy AKMU’s summer song or summer album.
The insiders also said, “AKMU can express both cheerful and sentimental feel in their music. AKMU will definitely sweep music charts of this summer season with their own special music that will stand out among all those summer songs of girl groups”.
With AKMU’s comeback in this July, their label YG Entertainment is kicking off their “hard work” for the second half of this year in earnest.
During the first half of this year alone, many YG artists including AKMU, WINNER, SECHSKIES, PSY, iKON, G-DRAGON, and BLACKPINK have come back with new songs.
YG’s rookie ONE will be the first YG artist to come into the frontline of the music scene in the second half of this year and then the baton will be passed to AKMU. As the new large-scale audition program produced by YG is known to begin in the second half of this year, YG’s “hard work” is expected to continue throughout the second half.
AKMU came back to the music scene with new album “WINTER” in January this year, to sweep No.1 on charts with title track “LAST GOODBYE”. The song took No.2 on Gaon’s digital chart for the first half of 2017, following “I’ll Go to You like the First Snow” that is an original sound track of drama series Guardian: The Lonely and Great God:, which means that “LAST GOODBYE” was the greatest his song for the first half of this year when excluding original sound tracks of drama series.
