[Official] iKON will take the baton from WINNER… Coming back after one year of absence
[스포츠조선 박영웅 기자] YG Entertainment (“YG”) unveiled a comeback teaser poster of iKON, on May 1 at 10AM. The poster has iKON’s logo and a phrase “COMING SOON”, suggesting iKON’s upcoming comeback.
iKON will come back with double title tracks written by the members themselves. As the members of iKON have already been recognized as songwriters and producers, the album is expected to have songs that fully reveal the unique color of iKON.
It is the first time for iKON to release new songs in Korea, since “#WYD” released in May last year. iKON’s comeback this time bears significant meaning not just for iKON members but also for YG. As iKON is one of the leading boy groups of YG who follow the footsteps of BIGBANG, they worked especially hard on the new album in order to show upgraded music and performances. So far, they have built diverse experiences on the stage, as well as producing capabilities.
Beginning from Japan arena tour, iKON has also given dome tour in Japan, growing into top idol boy group in a short period of time. The team is resolved to fully present their skills built in their concerts so far, for this comeback. iKON will follow the footsteps of BIGBANG who built their global recognition and capabilities by giving numerous concerts, to present upgraded music and performances.
As iKON is a boy group who represents YG, who follow the footsteps of BIGBANG along with WINNER, they worked especially hard on the new album in order to upgraded their music and performances. So far, iKON has built producing capabilities and stage experiences.
So far, iKON has focused on performances in Korea and concerts in Japan. iKON achieved a great success in Japan, receiving the rookie of the year award in the 31st Japan Golden Disc Awards, one of the most prestigious music awards hosted by the Recording Industry Association of Japan, as well as the Asian rookie of the year award and best 3 Asian rookie award.
