YG Sports signed contract with golfer Lee Bomi for management in Korea [Official]
[동아닷컴=정희연 기자] YG Sports has signed a contract with Lee Bomi (Nobuta Group, 29), a pro golfer who is called the queen of JLPGA ( Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association), for her management in Korea.
YG Sports announced that the company established a cooperative relationship with Nobuta Group, the agency of Lee Bomi’s management in Japan, to manage Lee Bomi in Korea.
Lee Bomi made her debut in KLPGA in 2007 and stood under a big spotlight by receiving many awards in KLPGA tour in 2010, including the most wins award, money list leader award, and the lowest scoring average award.
Then, in 2011, Lee Bomi debuted in Japan, to achieve seven victories in the season of 2015 and set the largest prize money for a season record by winning 230 million yen (1.9 billion Korean won) in the Japan’s professional golf league. Lee is a star player who took JLPGA’s money leader award for two years in a row in 2015 and 2016. She is enjoying best-possible popularity in Japan, as a golfer with outstanding look and talent.
YG Sports’ CEO Kang Young-hwan said, “Lee Bomi is maintaining best records continuously in Japan’s professional golf league. YG Sports will spare no support for Lee Bomi to further improve her performance and to attract more sponsors for her, adding to her solid basic skills, performance, and star quality. We’ll utilize diverse resources of YG, in order to even further enhance her star quality”.
YG Sports is currently managing Kim Hyojoo (Lotte, 22) known as a genius golfer who is playing in the LPGA tour, Lee Soyoung (Lotte, 20) playing in KLPGA, Lee Dayeon (Mediheal, 20), Kim Jieun (Mediheal, 22), and Noh Yeonwoo (20). YG Sports is a sports marketing company that not only manages golfers but also plans and operates sports events such as golf tournaments, as well as runs other businesses such as golf supplies distribution, including the operation of on-line golf shopping mall SAYGOLF.
