SONG MINHO became the first winner of “The Collabo” with “GUP”… Seol Ji-gyeom said “I really respect SONG MINHO”
[OSEN=정소영 기자] The team of SONG MINHO and Seol Ji-gyeom became the winner of the first competition of “The Collaboration” show.
On July 14, fantastic collaboration performances of Korean and Chinese artists were aired in the second episode of “The Collaboration” show. The team of SONG MINHO and Seol Ji-gyeom won the competition by showing a great synergy.
The team of SONG MIHO and Seol Ji-gyeom sang SONG MINHO’s “GUP”. “GUP” is the song that SONG MINHO performed for the first time in the semi-final competition of Mnet’s “Show Me the Money 4” show. It created sensation by sweeping No.1 place on the charts of Korea’s music-streaming websites. Regarding the reason why the team chose “GUP” for their performance, SONG explained, “This song has honest and straightforward lyrics, so I chose this song hoping that many Chinese people could listen to it and sympathize with it”.
At first, the two looked rather unstable, as they could not practice together enough because of Seol Ji-gyeom’s busy schedules. However, in the competition, the chemistry between the two “exploded”, to be acclaimed by the audience.
After the performance, Seol Ji-gyeom expressed his affection for SONG MINHO, saying, “SONG MINHO is a really hard-working artist. He kept practicing over and over. I really wanted to say this. I really respect him”. The team of SONG MINHO and Seol Ji-gyeom took the first place by garnering 155 votes out of 500 votes from the audience, to become the winner of the first competition.
Viewers who watched the two’s performance extolled it, saying, “The chemistry between the two was just overwhelming”, “Another masterpiece has been born”, “The rearrangement of the song was also perfect”, etc.
In the meantime, KANG SEUNGYOON also drew big attention by presenting a special chemistry with his partner Yu Quan. Insiders said that KANG SEUNGYOON and Yu Quan boasted perfect harmony all the time from the selection of the song for the competition to practice. The two selected LYn’s “Back In Time” to present passionate and sentimental performance that was acclaimed by the audience. Notably, KANG SEUNGYOON caught the eyes of the audience by singing the chorus part in Chinese.
Yu Quan praised KANG SEUNGYOON by saying, “KANG SEUNGYOON decided all the things including how to arrange the chair, when to look at each other, and when to turn around toward the audience. I think we understand each other very well”.
“The Collaboration” show is broadcasted on Thursday every two weeks, on “10Cent Video” (8PM in Chinese time), SBS MTV (Korean time, 9PM), and SBS funE (10:30PM in Korean time).
