WINNER Performs at the Finale of Tokyo Girls Collection, Enthralling 30,000 People
[동아닷컴=홍세영 기자] WINNER performed at the finale of Tokyo Girls Collection (TGC), the biggest fashion event in Japan, and sent 30,000 people in the audience into a near frenzy.
On March 19 at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo, the 22nd Tokyo Girls Collection 2016 SPRING/SUMMER took place. WINNER performed for the finale of the event.
It was their first time attending the TGC, but WINNER’s impressive performance sent the audience wild. To communicate with the audience more effectively, the said in Japanese, “We hope you enjoy the collection until the end, and we’ll do our best to make that happen. Thank you for inviting us to this wonderful event. We were so excited that we couldn’t sleep well last night.”
WINNER kicked off their performance by singing “LOVE IS A LIE”. Then, they sang “SENTIMENTAL”, one of the title tracks of their recently-released mini album “EXIT:E”. It was their first time singing “SENTIMENTAL” in Japan, but the audience joined WINNER in singing the chorus part, showing their huge popularity in Japan. Afterwards, WINNER performed “JUST ANOTHER BOY” and wowed the audience with their precise dance moves as a group.
WINNER’s performance lasted 15 minutes, and it served as a grand finale to the 22nd Tokyo Girls Collection, which went on for six hours and 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, WINNER is to go on their third tour in Japan titled “WINNER JAPAN TOUR 2016” from June. The tour will consists of nine concerts in four cities. Concerts will be held in venues such as Makuhari Messe, the Fukuoka Sun Palace Hotel & Hall, Century Hall of the Nagoya Congress Center, and the World Memorial Hall in Kobe, and are expected to draw 36,000 people in total.
