[Exclusive] WINNER Ready to Make a Grand Comeback on February 1 with 3 MVs
[OSEN=선미경 기자] WINNER is getting ready to make a grand comeback on February 1 with a mini-album and three music videos.
A staff member of YG Entertainment said that they are currently filming three MVs for WINNER’s comeback. WINNER’s mini-album will have four to five tracks, and YG is making music videos for more than half of them. This shows that YG is making an all-out effort for WINNER’s comeback.
Making music videos takes up the biggest share of album production costs. Other record producing companies only make a music video for the title track. But YG places a lot of emphasis on music videos. Last year, BIGBANG released two MVs along with two singles every month from May to August. iKON also released a number of singles and music videos.
It’s the first time even for YG to release three MVs at the same time. It is a way to make WINNER’s long-awaited comeback even more special.
A staff member of YG Entertainment told OSEN, “WINNER, who has swept the rookie awards last year, have been on a break for more than a year. As such, we are doing everything we can to make their comeback special. In the run up to WINNER’s comeback on February 1, we are going to launch a special two-week promotion campaign. The campaign is YANG HYUN SUK’s idea so we have high hopes.”
On January 11, WINNER released “PRICKED”, the music and lyrics of which are made by SONG MINHO. YG decided that they wouldn’t make a music video for the song or make WINNER appear on TV shows to promote the song. The song will be included in WINNER’s mini-album as the last track.
