iKON will finally debut on the 15 at midnight. As the team already has a substantial fandom, the news of their debut is a big issue even among fans.
YG’s head YANG HYUN SUK is also showing special focus on iKON, posting iKON’s teaser image on his social media account. It is the first-ever case for YANG HYUN SUK to post an image of an YG singer on his personal social media. That shows how much YANG is focused on iKON’s debut.
From May to August this year, YANG focused on BIGBANG, but from now on, he will put more focus on iKON. YANG is showing his will to pass the baton of BIGBANG’s big success during the first half of this year to iKON for the second half. That further raised the possibility of iKON’s record success, with YG’s head YANG at the helm.
iKON’s debut plan is literally a “jackpot”. Among 12 songs included in their full-length album to be released in November this year, more than five songs will be title tracks. There has been no team who made more than five songs in their debut album as title tracks. It is notable that as many as 12 songs will be presented in the debut album, and the fact that more than five among those 12 will be title tracks shows how big and firm musical talent iKON already has.
Those 12 songs are all the more special, as they are all written by the members themselves. Usually, the songs in an idol group’s debut album are written by famous songwriters, to raise the chance of the team’s success. However, iKON fills their debut album with songs written by themselves, to begin their career as an idol singer and an artist at the same time.
Furthermore, iKON will hold their debut concert “SHOWTIME” on the 3 next month at Olympic Gymnastics Hall which can accommodate as many as 10,000 people. It is a very exceptional case for an idol group who has yet to debut to hold a debut concert at the Gymnastics Hall, which is usually a venue for concert of top singers.
iKON will unveil the music and video of their warm-up release “MY TYPE” on the 15 at midnight, “DEBUT HALF ALBUM ‘WELCOME BACK’” on October 1, and then “DEBUT FULL ALBUM ‘WELCOME BACK’” on November 2, to begin their performances in earnest.
The entire music scene is paying keen attention to what the scorecard of iKON, who is making an unprecedentedly grand debut for three months from September to November following the success of BIGBANG, will get.
