The reason behind YANG’s affection for BOBBY [MD FOCUS]

At the preview event of YG’s new boy group creating project “MIX & MATCH” held at Conrad Hotel on Sept 2, the Executive Producer YANG HYUN SUK showed much affection for B.I, explaining he will be the one to be in charge of the upcoming new group.
The reason behind his affection is BOBBY’s incredible leadership and song-writing skill.
He added, “You can’t help but cherish this boy. It’s like seeing G-DRAGON for the first time. And he can even write songs. Everyone at YG thinks the same. After he lost the last survival program, he started writing songs, and they were much better than expected. I have high hopes for him.”
“He also possesses this leadership quality that is hard to attain. TEAM B truly relies on him and follows what he says. He is gifted.”
But he also gave some harsh evaluation. “On Mnet’s ‘Show Me The Money,” he kept making mistakes, and I think he was too nervous. I told him he is not a pro yet. He was too excited to show people something, and he missed one line and then the whole thing just collapsed. I think this hurt him, but surely became a meaningful experience. If he writes songs and trains with determination, this will become a memory of the past.”
He added, “After much consideration, I came up with iKON for the name of the new boy group. I spelled it with a K instead of C because they will lead the future K-Pop. In the past, we aimed to become the best in Korea. But now our stage is the entire world.”
There will be a total of 3 battles on “MIX & MATCH.” B.I, BOBBY and KIM JIN HWAN’s membership for the group is confirmed, and 6 others, SONG YUN HYEONG, KOO JUN HOE, KIM DONG HYUK from TEAM B and newcomers JUNG CHANWOO, YANG HONGSEOK and JUNG JINHYEONG will compete against each other.
The group’s formation is 30% dependent on viewers’ votes and the rest on YG artists. Only 7 will remain in the end.
The first episode will be aired at 11 pm on Sept 11 on Mnet and Naver TV Cast.
